Things to do in Savannah

Savannah was laid out by James Oglethorpe in 1733 on a grid of public squares, and that plan still shapes one of the largest urban historic districts in the country. Beneath the live oaks and Spanish moss is a working city: the Port of Savannah is among the busiest container ports in the United States, Gulfstream Aerospace builds and services business jets at the airport, and the Savannah College of Art and Design has filled historic buildings with students and studios.
