Things to do in Telluride

Telluride is a former silver and gold mining town set at the end of a steep-walled box canyon in the San Juan Mountains, with Bridal Veil Falls at its head and the whole town designated a National Historic Landmark District. The Telluride Ski Resort connects the historic town to Mountain Village by a free gondola, and the town’s small year-round population swells with skiers in winter and festivalgoers in summer. Hospitality, real estate and second-home ownership drive the economy.
