Things to do in St. Augustine

Founded by the Spanish in 1565, St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied European-established settlement in the contiguous United States, and its narrow streets, coquina walls and Spanish colonial buildings make that history easy to feel. The Castillo de San Marcos guards the bayfront, Henry Flagler's Gilded Age hotels anchor the downtown skyline, and St. George Street is lined with shops, taverns and museums.
