Things to do in Nantucket

Nantucket lies about 30 miles south of Cape Cod, and its remoteness has preserved a town that looks much as it did when it was the center of the world’s whaling trade in the early 19th century. Cobblestone Main Street, captains’ houses and gray cedar-shingled cottages make up one of the largest concentrations of pre–Civil War buildings in the country.
