Things to do in Somerset

Somerset is the commercial center of south-central Kentucky and the main gateway to Lake Cumberland, one of the largest man-made lakes east of the Mississippi River. The lake’s clear water, long shoreline and many coves have made it a houseboat destination, and marinas around the lake rent and moor large houseboats for families and groups. The local economy includes healthcare, manufacturing and tourism, and the town hosts Somernites Cruise, a monthly car show that fills downtown with classic cars and hot rods during the warmer months.
