Things to do in Lake of the Ozarks

Lake of the Ozarks was created when Bagnell Dam closed off the Osage River in 1931, and its winding, serpentine shape gives it well over a thousand miles of shoreline in the hills of central Missouri. Towns such as Osage Beach, Lake Ozark, Camdenton and Sunrise Beach have grown up around it, and the lake has become the Midwest’s classic second-home destination, with waterfront houses, marinas, resorts and golf courses.     Ha Ha Tonka State Park

    Above a spring-fed cove near Camdenton, the stone ruins of an early 20th-century castle overlook the lake, surrounded by sinkholes, natural bridges and wooded trails.
