Kalamazoo is a college town and industrial city in southwest Michigan, home to Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo College. Its economy has deep roots in pharmaceuticals, dating to the Upjohn Company, and Pfizer still operates a large manufacturing site in neighboring Portage.
