Things to do in Springfield

Springfield is the commercial capital of southwest Missouri and the gateway to the Ozarks. It is the home of Bass Pro Shops, whose original Outdoor World store still anchors the company’s headquarters, and of O’Reilly Auto Parts, while CoxHealth and Mercy make it a regional medical center. Missouri State University, Drury University and Evangel University give the city a large student population, and its role in naming U.S. Route 66 in 1926 lets it claim the title of the highway’s birthplace.
