Harbour Island is a small island off the northeast coast of Eleuthera, about three miles long and best known for the soft pink sand of its Atlantic beach. Dunmore Town, one of the oldest settlements in the Bahamas, faces the calm harbor side with clapboard cottages, picket fences and bougainvillea, and residents and visitors get around by golf cart. The island has drawn a fashionable crowd for decades, and its intimate hotels, beach clubs and restaurants keep it one of the most sought-after addresses in the Bahamas for vacations and second homes.
