Things to do in Green Bay

Green Bay is the smallest city in North America with a major league team, and the Packers, owned by their fans, are woven into its identity. Beyond football, the city is one of the oldest settlements in Wisconsin and a working port at the mouth of the Fox River, with an economy built on paper and packaging, food processing, insurance, trucking and healthcare. Several large privately held manufacturers and food companies are headquartered in the area, along with regional hospital systems.

  1. 01

    Lambeau Field

The Packers’ historic home offers stadium tours on many non-game days, including the tunnel walk, the field and the Packers Hall of Fame, which celebrates the team’s championship history.

  2. 02

    Titletown

Next to Lambeau Field, this year-round district has a park with a sledding hill and skating in winter, a sports-themed play area and restaurants and a brewery nearby.

  3. 03

    National Railroad Museum

Exhibits include a massive Union Pacific Big Boy steam locomotive and the command train Dwight D. Eisenhower used in Europe during World War II.

  4. 04

    Green Bay Botanical Garden

This garden on the city’s west side has themed gardens, a children’s garden and a popular holiday light display through the winter months.

  5. 05

    Heritage Hill State Historical Park

Along the Fox River, historic buildings moved here from around northeast Wisconsin show life from fur-trading days through the early 20th century, with costumed interpreters.

  6. 06

    Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary

This large urban wildlife refuge on the bay has trails, a nature center and rehabilitated wildlife, next door to the city’s inexpensive Bay Beach Amusement Park.
