Things to do in Allentown

Allentown is the largest city in the Lehigh Valley, a region that grew on steel, cement and textiles and has become one of the busiest logistics and manufacturing corridors in the Northeast. Major employers include large hospital systems such as St. Luke’s University Health Network, the industrial gas company Air Products and a long list of distribution centers built to serve the New York and Philadelphia markets. Lehigh University in neighboring Bethlehem and several other colleges add research and a steady stream of visitors.

    On the grounds of the former Bethlehem Steel plant, the blast furnaces are illuminated at night beside a performing arts campus that hosts concerts and Musikfest events.
