Las Cruces is New Mexico’s second-largest city, set in the fertile Mesilla Valley along the Rio Grande beneath the jagged spires of the Organ Mountains. New Mexico State University is a major employer, and the surrounding desert is one of the country’s most important testing grounds: White Sands Missile Range, NASA’s White Sands Test Facility and Spaceport America all lie within reach.
