Things to do in Mammoth Lakes

Mammoth Lakes is a mountain resort town in the Eastern Sierra, built around Mammoth Mountain, a volcanic peak that rises above 11,000 feet. The mountain’s high elevation and heavy snowfall give it one of the longest ski seasons in California, often running well into spring. Tourism, hospitality and vacation homes, many owned by Southern California families, drive the local economy, and the town is the base for June Mountain, the Mammoth Lakes Basin and some of the best trout fishing in the state.
