Things to do in Flagstaff

Flagstaff sits at about 7,000 feet on the Colorado Plateau, surrounded by the largest contiguous ponderosa pine forest in the world and crowned by the San Francisco Peaks, home to Humphreys Peak, Arizona’s highest point. Northern Arizona University gives the city a college-town energy, Flagstaff Medical Center serves as the region’s trauma center and W. L. Gore runs several medical products plants here. Lowell Observatory, where Pluto was discovered in 1930, helped make Flagstaff the world’s first International Dark Sky City, and Route 66 and the railroad still run through the historic downtown.
