Things to do in Atlantic City

Atlantic City built the first boardwalk in the United States in 1870 and has been a resort for well over a century, inspiring the street names on the Monopoly board along the way. Today it is the largest casino destination on the East Coast, with resorts such as the Borgata in the Marina District and the Hard Rock and Ocean along the Boardwalk. Concerts, boxing, conventions and corporate events keep the hotels busy, and the FAA’s William J. Hughes Technical Center, a major aviation research and testing facility, sits beside the city’s airport.

North of the city, an eight-mile wildlife drive crosses salt marshes and bays where herons, egrets and migrating waterfowl gather, with the casino skyline on the horizon.
