Things to do in Mobile

Mobile was founded by the French in 1702, and its port on Mobile Bay has driven the city’s fortunes ever since. Today the Port of Mobile handles a large share of Alabama’s trade, Airbus assembles commercial jets at the Brookley Aeroplex, and shipbuilders and steel and chemical plants line the river and bay.
