Things to do in Branson

Branson is a small Ozarks town that became one of the country’s great live-entertainment destinations, with music, comedy and variety theaters lining 76 Country Boulevard. Around that core is serious outdoor country: Table Rock Lake, the cold trout waters of Lake Taneycomo and the forested hills of the White River valley. Big Cedar Lodge, developed by Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris, has added golf courses by Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and other big names, turning the area into a destination for golf trips and corporate retreats as well as family vacations.

    Silver Dollar City

  2. 02

    Table Rock Lake

Clear water, wooded coves and more than 800 miles of shoreline make the lake a favorite for boating, bass fishing, swimming and scuba diving, with marinas and lakeside rentals.

  3. 03

    Top of the Rock

Johnny Morris’s ridgetop complex south of town offers a Jack Nicklaus-designed par-3 course, a cart trail through Lost Canyon Cave and sunset views over Table Rock Lake.

  4. 04

    Payne’s Valley Golf Course

Designed by Tiger Woods as his first public course, it is known for its dramatic setting in the Ozark hills and a bonus 19th hole set among towering rock formations.

  5. 05

    Dogwood Canyon Nature Park

A private wilderness reserve straddling the Missouri–Arkansas line, with tram tours, walking and biking trails, waterfalls and guided fly fishing for trout.
