Branson is a small Ozarks town that became one of the country’s great live-entertainment destinations, with music, comedy and variety theaters lining 76 Country Boulevard. Around that core is serious outdoor country: Table Rock Lake, the cold trout waters of Lake Taneycomo and the forested hills of the White River valley. Big Cedar Lodge, developed by Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris, has added golf courses by Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and other big names, turning the area into a destination for golf trips and corporate retreats as well as family vacations.

Getting here by road usually means a winding drive south from Springfield or a long trip from Kansas City, St. Louis, Dallas or Tulsa. Branson Airport, built specifically to serve the area, sits a few miles south of town, and M. Graham Clark Downtown Airport at College of the Ozarks is even closer to the Strip and Branson Landing. Flying private lets families and golf groups arrive on their own schedule, play a round that afternoon and catch an evening show, then spend the next day on the lake or at Silver Dollar City.
