Things to do in Cooperstown

Cooperstown is a small village at the southern end of Otsego Lake, founded by the father of novelist James Fenimore Cooper, who called the lake “Glimmerglass” in his writing. It is best known as home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, which draws fans from every corner of the country, and as the site of summer youth baseball tournaments that bring thousands of families each year. The village also has a notable cultural life, with the Glimmerglass Festival’s opera, the Fenimore Art Museum and the Farmers’ Museum, and the Bassett Healthcare Network is a major regional employer.
