Things to do in Sioux City

Sioux City sits on the Missouri River where Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota meet, and it has long served as the trading and processing center for a vast farm and ranch region. Meatpacking and food processing remain central to the economy, along with agriculture equipment, ethanol, trucking and logistics, healthcare and regional retail. The city’s history is tied to the river and to the Lewis and Clark expedition, whose only member to die on the journey, Sergeant Charles Floyd, is buried on a bluff overlooking the valley.
