Worcester is the second-largest city in New England and the hub of central Massachusetts. Once a center of wire, machinery and abrasives manufacturing, it now leans on healthcare, higher education and life sciences, anchored by UMass Chan Medical School, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the College of the Holy Cross and Clark University, as well as biomanufacturing companies in and around the city.
