Things to do in Gainesville

Gainesville sits on the shores of Lake Lanier northeast of Atlanta and serves as the commercial center of the north Georgia region. It is known as the Poultry Capital of the World for its role in the chicken industry, and it also has a strong manufacturing base, a major regional medical center in Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and campuses of Brenau University and the University of North Georgia.
