When to go. December through April is Exuma’s peak season, with dry weather, steady trade winds and harbors full of visiting yachts. The National Family Island Regatta, the Bahamas’ premier event for traditional wooden sailing sloops, takes over Elizabeth Harbour in April. Late spring brings calmer seas and quieter resorts.
