Morristown is the county seat of Morris County, one of the wealthiest counties in the country and a long-established base for pharmaceutical companies, financial firms and corporate headquarters. Novartis has its U.S. operations in nearby East Hanover, and offices along the Interstate 287 corridor host life sciences, insurance and technology companies. The town itself combines a historic green, a lively dining scene and Revolutionary War history: George Washington’s army spent two hard winters encamped here, and the area is preserved as a national historical park.

Morristown Municipal Airport, a few miles east of downtown, is a busy business aviation airport that serves executives across northern New Jersey without the congestion of the major New York airports. Flying private here puts you minutes from offices in Parsippany, Florham Park and Basking Ridge and from horse country around Far Hills and Bedminster. Visitors come for the national park, the Mayo Performing Arts Center and nearby golf, including Baltusrol in Springfield and the USGA’s museum in Liberty Corner, and Manhattan is within reach by train.
