Bowling Green is the only place in the world where the Chevrolet Corvette is built, and the National Corvette Museum across the highway from the assembly plant turns the city into a pilgrimage for car enthusiasts. Western Kentucky University is the other anchor of the local economy, alongside a growing manufacturing and distribution base along Interstate 65, Fruit of the Loom’s headquarters and the healthcare systems serving south-central Kentucky. The city sits about an hour north of Nashville and roughly two hours south of Louisville.

Bowling Green–Warren County Regional Airport is just a couple of miles from downtown, so flying private is an efficient way to visit plants and suppliers, attend events at the Corvette Museum or come in for WKU football and basketball. It is also a convenient base for Mammoth Cave National Park, about 35 miles to the northeast, which protects the longest known cave system in the world. Visitors can take a boat tour through Lost River Cave, ride or drive the track at the NCM Motorsports Park, explore the historic railpark downtown and visit the Shaker Museum at South Union in nearby Auburn.
