Greenville has transformed itself from a textile mill town into one of the most dynamic cities in the Southeast. The Upstate region’s economy is built on advanced manufacturing: Michelin’s North American headquarters is here, BMW’s largest plant in the world is just up the road in Greer, and companies in automotive, aerospace, energy and engineering have followed. Furman University and Clemson’s automotive research campus support that growth, and the downtown, rebuilt around the Reedy River, has become a model for other cities.

Greenville Downtown Airport is just a few minutes from Main Street and is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the state, while Greenville-Spartanburg International sits between the two cities. Flying private lets executives visit plants and suppliers across the Upstate in a single day, and it makes weekend trips to the mountains, Lake Keowee or Asheville easy. Visitors come for Falls Park, the Swamp Rabbit Trail, the restaurants along Main Street and hiking at Paris Mountain and Table Rock.
