Bryce Canyon City is the small gateway community at the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park, built around Ruby’s Inn, a family-run lodging and visitor hub that dates back to the early 1900s. The park itself is famous for its amphitheaters filled with hoodoos, tall spires of orange and white rock that glow at sunrise and sunset. Tourism drives the local economy, with lodges, outfitters and restaurants serving visitors from around the world.

Bryce Canyon is remote, about four hours from Salt Lake City and Las Vegas by car. Bryce Canyon Airport, a few miles from the park entrance, has a long runway, so flying private lets you arrive close to the rim instead of spending a day on the road. From there, Scenic Byway 12, Red Canyon and Capitol Reef National Park are all within reach. Visitors come for hiking among the hoodoos, horseback rides, winter snowshoeing and ranger-led astronomy programs.
