Private charter to & from Hood River

Hood River sits in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, where steady summer winds funnel through the canyon and have made the town one of the world’s great windsurfing and kiteboarding destinations. Orchards of pears, apples and cherries fill the Hood River Valley, which rises south toward the snowy peak of Mount Hood, and the town is known for breweries, cideries and wineries. The economy mixes agriculture, tourism, outdoor-gear companies and drone and aerospace technology firms that have grown up in the area.

Hood River is about an hour east of Portland on I-84, a drive that can slow in summer traffic or close in winter ice storms. Flying private lets you land at Ken Jernstedt Airfield just south of town, home of a well-known museum of antique airplanes and cars, or at the Columbia Gorge Regional Airport across the river. From here, skiing on Mount Hood, waterfall hikes in the western Gorge and the vineyards around The Dalles are all close. Visitors come for sailing on the river, mountain biking, the orchard stands of the Fruit Loop and a lively downtown overlooking the water.
