Tullahoma is a small city in southern Middle Tennessee with a deep connection to aerospace. Arnold Air Force Base, home of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, operates some of the most advanced wind tunnels and flight test facilities in the world, and a cluster of defense contractors and engineers supports its work, along with the University of Tennessee Space Institute nearby. The town’s airport is home to the Beechcraft Heritage Museum, and the area’s economy also includes manufacturing and the whiskey industry of the surrounding hills.

Tullahoma Regional Airport is just a couple of miles from downtown, and flying private makes it easy for engineers and contractors to reach Arnold without the long drive from Nashville or Huntsville. It is also a gateway to Tennessee whiskey country: the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg and George Dickel’s Cascade Hollow distillery are both a short drive away. Visitors can explore Tims Ford Lake, the ancient walls of Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park in Manchester and the campus of the University of the South in Sewanee on the edge of the Cumberland Plateau. In June, the Bonnaroo music festival fills the fields near Manchester.
